Police from Bankstown Local Area Command are searching for a man following an armed hold up in western Sydney early this year.

About 10pm (Monday 27 February 2012) a man entered a convenience store on Fetherstone Street at Bankstown armed with a knife.

The man approached an employee and demanded cash.

The employee handed over a sum of money from the till before the offender left the store on foot and ran toward the mall nearby.

Police were called to the scene a short time later and conducted a canvas of the area.

Police investigating the matter have released CCTV images of a man who they wish to speak to.

He is described as being 175-180cm tall with a thin build, about 19-23 years of age, with dark hair and a small moustache. The man also possibly has a tattoo on the left hand side of his neck.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper with a large white and blue coloured ‘Henleys’ logo across the front.

He was also seen carrying a dark coloured bag across his shoulder and was wearing dark coloured gloves.
