Mirrabooka Detectives are calling for the public’s assistance in their investigation into an armed robbery on a 42 year old taxi driver on Thursday 10 May 2012. About 3.55pm, the victim picked up a man from an address in Kardinya who requested to be driven to the Balga skate Park near Princess Road and Camberwell Crescent. When they arrived, the man got out of the vehicle stating his friend would pay the fare. Shortly after, another man walked up to the driver’s side brandishing a blood-filled syringe and demanding the victim’s wallet and mobile phone. The offenders stole the victim’s phone and a quantity of cash before ordering him to drive away. The first man (pictured) is described as approximately 20 years of age, between 170 and 175cm tall, slim build, short black hair and a thin goatee style beard/moustache. He was wearing a grey jumper, cargo shorts and thongs. The second man is described as approximately 18 to 20 years of age, 170cm tall, slim build, olive skinned and unshaven. He was wearing a brown baseball cap, a yellow t-shirt and dark jeans/pants.
