Police are continuing their investigations into an armed robbery at a social club in the state’s north on Sunday (18 November 2012).
Just before 11.15pm, two men – one armed with a firearm, the other possibly with a metal pole – forced entry in the club on Watkins Road, Wangi Wangi.
Once inside, the man with the gun fired two shots towards a wall and a CCTV camera before demanding money from a 37-year-old male employee.
The staff member complied and handed over a sum of cash.
Before the pair left, one struck a 55-year-old male patron across the legs with the pole.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Area Command arrived a short time later, and a crime scene was established.
Police are now wishing to speak with two men about the incident.
The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a tan and short, stocky build.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark jumper, grey shorts, joggers and gloves. He was also holding a rifle.
The second man is also described as being of Caucasian appearance, tall and with a thin build.
At the time, he was wearing a black jumper and black tracksuit pants. He was also holding a white pole.
