Police are investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store that occurred overnight in Mackenzie.

Initial information suggests that around 9.35pm, a man has entered the Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road business, produced a screwdriver and made demands for cash.

The staff complied, and the man left the store on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, of a stocky build, around 175cms tall, was between 30-40 years old and had short blonde hair.

He was last seen wearing beige cargo pants, a maroon polo shirt and a yellow baseball cap.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
