Police from Bankstown are appealing for assistance following an armed robbery in Sefton today.
Shortly before 7pm (Monday 17 December 2012) a man entered a fruit shop on Helen Street and appeared to be looking around the store.
Minutes later the man produced a pistol and threatened the shop attendant, making demands for cash.
The female shop assistant handed over a sum of cash before the man ran from the store.
Fortunately no one was hurt during the robbery.
The man has been described to police as having a large build, about 6ft tall, and wearing a blue hooded jumper.
A crime scene was established while forensic police and detectives carried out their investigations.
Detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command will continue their inquiries and would appreciate any information from the public that may assist.
