Police are again appealing for public help as they investigate a string of armed robberies on western Sydney businesses.

Strike Force Delander, comprising officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit, is conducting inquiries into three armed raids at Werrington, Woodbine and Emu Plains.

In the first incident, about 6.30am on Friday 26 May 2012, two men described as being of Maori/Pacific Islander appearance entered a registered club on Dunheved Road, Werrington, and threatened staff with a knife and baseball bat.

The pair stole a sum of cash before fleeing the scene in a red Holden Commodore which was later discovered burnt out at Lethbridge Park.

In the second incident, about 5am on Sunday 7 October 2012, two Maori/Pacific Islander men armed with a machete threatened a pregnant woman working inside a newsagency on the Great Western Highway, Emu Plains, before making off with cash and a large quantity of cigarettes.

And in the third incident, about 2am on Friday 19 October, two men wielding a machete and tyre lever entered a fast food outlet on Rennie Road, Woodbine, where they threatened staff and stole cash. The offenders then left the scene in a silver-coloured, medium-sized four-wheel-drive.

Strike force investigators have renewed their appeal for public assistance as they continue their investigations into the robberies. They have now released CCTV images of two men they believe might be able to assist their inquiries.

It’s believed the pair might frequent the Mt Druitt and Tregear areas.
