Police have released images of a man wanted in relation to an armed robbery of a liquor store in East Brisbane on January 25.

Around midday, a man entered the Lytton Road liquor store and threatened a staff member and demanded cash.

The staff member complied and the man fled the scene, heading west along Lytton Road.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance with a heavy build, around 175cm tall and aged between 40 and 50 years-old.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a white polo shirt, knee length light blue denim shorts, a fluorescent green bucket hat and a black satchel bag.
