Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel at Goondiwindi early this morning.

Around 1.20am three men entered the Herbert Street premises believed to be armed with a firearm.

When two female staff members noticed a man was armed, they attempted to leave the premises when the man chased and grabbed one of them. The other female employee fled to a nearby location to raise the alarm.

The man dragged the 18-year-old staff member back into the gaming area of the premises before the trio stole cash from the till, items from the employee and fled the scene.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

One of the men is described as being Caucasian, approximately 185cm tall with a solid build. The two other men are described as having thin builds.
