Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food outlet on the state’s north coast.

About 8.55pm yesterday (Tuesday 5 March), staff members at the restaurant on Bray Street in Coffs Harbour had just closed for the night when three males approached the locked front doors.

The males, armed with a rifle and knives, smashed their way inside the store and threatened staff.

The trio left the scene with an amount of cash.

The staff members ran from the store through a rear door during the robbery and alerted police when the offenders fled. Nobody was hurt.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command established a crime scene and conducted a search using a police dog. The offenders could not be located.

Investigators will view CCTV from the area in a bid to identify those responsible.
