Police are investigating the robbery of a West End convenience store in which a male was assaulted.
Around 12.05pm, two men entered the Hoogley Street business, selected a number of groceries and approached a male employee at the counter.
As the employee was placing the items in a bag, one of the men grabbed him by the throat and made demands for cash.
The employee opened the register and one of the men have reached across, taken a sum of cash from the register and punched the employee in the face.
The offenders fled the store on foot and were last seen heading towards Gray Road.
The male employee sustained minor injuries.
One man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 20-years-old, 180cm tall with a slim build, and dark collar-length hair with a rat’s tail.
The second man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 20-years-old, 180cm tall with a solid build, and short black hair with a rat’s tail.
Both men had their faces covered at the time of the offence.
