A man will appear in court today after allegedly threatening a woman at knifepoint outside a Bomaderry supermarket.

It’s alleged about 6.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 20 March 2013), a 42-year-old woman was leaving a supermarket on David Place, Bomaderry, when she was approached by a man with a knife.

Police have been told the man threatened the woman with a knife and a witness rang police.

The woman fell to the ground with the man grabbing her purse and running off.

During the incident, the woman sustained a laceration to her hand.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and the woman was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command commenced investigations into the incident and this morning, executed a search warrant at a nearby home, where they seized a number of items.

A short time later, police patrolling the Nowra area arrested an 18-year-old man on Quadrant Street, East Nowra

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Nowra Local Court today (21 March 2013).
