A pizza shop employee is in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in the neck during an armed robbery in Sydney’s south.

About 1pm (Friday 29 March 2013), a man armed with a knife entered the store on the Princes Highway, Rockdale, and jumped the counter.

The man demanded money from staff before stabbing a 29-year-old male employee in the neck with a knife.

The offender then fled the store with no proceeds.

Police and ambulance paramedics attended and the victim was taken to St George Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
