Police are investigating a group of offenders targeting pizza delivery drivers in Sydney’s southwest in a string of robberies and attempted robberies
The first incident occurred on 11.30pm on Saturday 23 March, when a pizza delivery driver was robbed by five males after being called to a home on Turimetta Street in Leumeah.
The home was unoccupied and the driver was robbed of the pizzas while he was walking back to his car.
A similar incident occurred around 9pm on Wednesday 27 March outside a home on Fitzroy Crescent in Leumeah.
On that occasion, two males armed with knives robbed the driver of cash and pizzas before running into nearby bushland.
There have been three suspicious incidents since then, which police believe have been attempted robberies.
Last Friday night (29 March), a caller ordered a pizza to be delivered to the same home on Fitzroy Crescent in Leumeah.
The resident at the home, who had not made the order, saw two males acting suspiciously in the reserve opposite. He called out to them saying he had called the police and they ran from the scene.
A short time later, the delivery driver arrived. Police believe it was a foiled robbery.
The two further planned robberies occurred on Phillip Street and Valinda Street in Campbelltown last weekend. Investigators from Campbelltown Local Area Command believe it is highly likely the same people have been involved in each incident.
Those involved are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s and live in the local area.
