Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident overnight where a man was struck with a glass during an altercation at a hotel in Willoughby.

Shortly before 10pm yesterday (Saturday 6 April 2013) police were called to a hotel on Willoughby Road after reports of an alleged glassing.

Police from the North Shore Local Area Command located and spoke with a 32-year-man who appeared to have lacerations to his mouth – he was heavily intoxicated.

The officers established a crime scene and contacted Ambulance Paramedics who attended and treated the injured man who did not wish to be conveyed to hospital.

The man subsequently left the area and officers reviewed CCTV footage of the incident.

Investigators then spoke to a 23-year-old man at the hotel and later at Chatswood Police Station.

After being spoken to clothing was seized for forensic examination and the man was released pending further inquiries.
