Police are appealing for public assistance after a golf club in Sydney’s south was held up at gunpoint.

About 8.20pm yesterday (Sunday 21 April 2013), two men entered the golf club on Harnleigh Avenue, Woolooware as it was closing, armed with a firearm and a sledge hammer.

The men, who had their faces concealed, threatened staff and demanded cash.

They fled with an amount of money, and police from Miranda Local Area Command were notified.

No patrons were in the club at the time and no one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information about the incident, or the two people, to contact them.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, and was wearing a black jacket with white stripe on the sleeve, and long dark pants.

The second man is described as having a medium to dark complexion, and was wearing a dark coloured jacket, track pants with a white stripe, and white shoes.
