A man has been charged following the armed robbery of a service station in Lismore at the weekend.

About 8.50pm (Sunday 28 April 2013) a man entered the service station on Ballina Road where he allegedly threatened the console operator with a firearm and demanded money.

The man fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after with an amount of cash.

The vehicle was parked outside the location and was allegedly being driven by a second man.

Acting on information received, police arrested an 18-year-old man in a vehicle on Richmond Street, Casino, yesterday afternoon (Monday 29 April 2013).

He was taken to Casino Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with dangerous weapon and granted conditional bail to appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday 27 May.

Officers have also recovered components of a firearm as well as a vehicle that were allegedly used during the robbery.

Police are currently pursuing a number of lines of inquiry while they continue their investigation.
