Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a club at Hazelbrook.

About 7am today (Saturday 4 May 2013), two men attended a sports club on Bonnie View Avenue, armed with a firearm and tomahawk.

They threatened a 63-year-old male employee and demanded he open a safe inside the premises; however, he was unable too.

About 10am, a 47-year-old female employee attended the premises and they forced her to open the safe. The men also took cash from other areas of the club.

Five other patrons who attended the club during this incident were also detained by the men.

About 11.30am, the men fled the premises in the 63-year-olds car.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police from Blue Mountains Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which will be examined by the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

The men have been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 30 to 40 years of age, wearing balaclavas.

They were last seen driving a white 2004 Toyota Prado with NSW registration LB 005.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged not to approach the vehicle and to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
