Police in north-western Sydney are looking for two men, following the armed robbery of a liquor store and the attempted armed robbery of a fruit and vegetable shop yesterday (Saturday 4 May 2013).
About 6.55pm, two men, both of whom were armed with large knives, entered a liquor store on Rooty Hill Road North, Plumpton.
The men approached two of the store’s staff members, demanding they hand over cash.
The employees complied, emptying the contents of the store’s tills into a bag being carried by one of the armed men. The men then fled the store, and were last seen running west along Bottles Road.
Earlier in the afternoon, at 4pm, two men armed with knives confronted a female employee at a fruit and vegetable store on Walters Road in Blacktown. The men demanded the employee hand over cash, however, when she hesitated to do so, they appeared to panic and left the store empty-handed.
Detectives have been told that in both incidents the armed offenders wore hooded jumpers to conceal their faces.
In both cases, the first man was wearing a red hooded jumper with white graphics on the front, and dark shorts. He also had a black bandana covering the lower part of his face.
The second man was wearing a white coloured hooded jumper and dark shorts. He too wore a black bandana over the lower part of his face.
