Police are investigating an attempt aggravated robbery at a Service Station in Collinswood overnight.

At about 1.05am a man entered the North East Road Caltex store, threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money.

The staff member immediately threw an object at the suspect who turned away and ran off empty handed.

Police patrols with the assistance of Dog Operations searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect possibly fled in a car around the corner on Rutherglen Avenue.

The suspect is described as a man of Caucasian appearance, wearing a grey hooded jumper covering most of his face and black pants.
