A man has been charged over an assault and robbery at a petrol station in Shalvey this morning.

About 4am (Sunday 19 May 2013), a 25-year-old man was at a petrol station on Luxford Road when he was allegedly assaulted and robbed.

Police have been told the man was standing at the night service window to make a purchase when he was approached by another man who threatened to stab him.

During the incident, he was forced to the ground and allegedly had a sharp object held to the back of his neck.

Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command were called to the petrol station with officers arriving moments later.

At the scene an officer drew their Taser with an 18-year-old man complying with directions and surrendering to police.

He was arrested and submitted to a search, with police allegedly locating a small amount of cannabis in his pockets.

The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station. While he was in custody, he allegedly damaged a police cell.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, possess prohibited drug and malicious damage, and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today.
