Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a bottle shop in the State’s north-west at the weekend.

Just before 9pm on Sunday (19 May 2013), two men with their faces covered entered a bottle shop on Gosport Street, Moree, and threatened the 60-year-old male employee with a knife and a hammer, demanding cash.

The men then ripped the register from the counter before running from the scene.

Police from Barwon Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted extensive search of the area; however, the men were not located.

Detectives from Moree are investigating the robbery and have released images of two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark tracksuit pants with a white stripe down the side and black shoes.

The second man was described as wearing a blue hooded jumper with white writing, dark-coloured tracksuit pants and white joggers and carrying a blue backpack.
