Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery which occurred in Ashwood last night.
Investigators have been told that two men entered a liquor outlet on Cleevland Road around 8pm.
Once inside the two men approached the counter and demanded that staff hand over cash.
A scuffle ensued and it is alleged that a knife was produced.
One of the attendants, a 17-year-old Glen Waverley boy, received lacerations to the torso.
The men stole a phone and wine before running from the store.
The 17-year-old was taken to an address in Glen Waverley and an ambulance was called.
He was transported to The Alfred and is in a stable condition.
