Detectives from Operation Counteract have arrested and charged a 53-year-old Glynde man with attempted aggravated robbery which occurred at a bank in Stepney in 2006.

Police will allege at about 3.55pm on Monday 7 August 2006, the man entered Bank SA at the Avenues Shopping Centre, threatened staff with a handgun and demanded money.

The staff activated the security screens preventing the man from obtaining any money.

He left empty handed and was last seen riding off on a bicycle.

He was released on police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on the 1 July 2013.
