Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Sydney’s CBD this afternoon.

About 4.20pm, two female staff-members at a retail store on George Street were closing up for the day, when a man walked into the store and brandished a large steak knife.

The man ordered the staff-members hand over money from the cash registers.

The women obliged with the man’s demand and he left the store a minute later with an amount of cash.

Police were called to the scene and detectives would now like to speak to anyone who saw the man responsible for the robbery.

He is described as being aged in his thirties, of Caucasian appearance, between 175cm – 185cm tall, of medium build, with pale

skin. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a navy and grey hooded-jumper, jeans and dark sunglasses.
