Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a restaurant in Darling Harbour.

Shortly before 1am today (Saturday 8 June 2013), a man and woman entered the restaurant on Wheat Road, armed with a firearm.

The man threatened the staff with the firearm and demanded money.

He leant over the counter and took a large amount of cash from the till, before fleeing with the woman.

Police from City Central Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was examined by forensic specialists.

The man has been described as being in his late 20s to early 30s with a shaved head and facial stubble. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, jeans and black running shoes.

The woman has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, late 20s to early 30s with long brown hair. She was wearing dark coloured pants, purple tights and red and white shoes
