Police are investigating the armed robbery of a bowling club in Sydney’s inner-west last night.
About 9.30pm (Friday 15 June), a man armed with a firearm entered the club on Margaret Street in Belfield and demanded money from an employee behind the bar.
The armed man was handed a small amount of cash and he ran from the scene through the club’s main entrance.
There were no shots fired and none of the approximately 30 patrons inside were injured.
Police from Campsie Local Area Command searched the area for the armed robber with out any success.
Officers spoke to the club’s employees and patrons in a bid to gather a better description of the man involved. They will also view CCTV.
The man is described as being around 170 to 180cm tall, of medium to solid build and was wearing a black hooded jumper, grey tracksuit pants, white sneakers and had a black shirt covering his face.
