Police are appealing for public assistance after a convenience store in Sydney’s south west was held up at knife point yesterday.

About 11.20am on Sunday 16 June 2013, a man entered a convenience store on Canterbury Road, Punchbowl, armed with a knife.

The man, who had his face concealed, allegedly held the knife to the throat of the male shop attendant, demanding money.

He left a short time later with an amount of cash and cigarettes.

The shop attendant was not injured during the incident.

Police from Campsie Local Area Command were notified and attended a short time later, establishing a crime scene that was examined by specialist forensic officers.

The man has only been described as being of Caucasian appearance and was wearing a black beanie, white joggers, dark coloured track pants with a white stripe down the sides, and an orange high-visibility work shirt with a long-sleeved grey top underneath.
