A man and a woman have been charged over the armed robberies of a clothing store and a restaurant in the Sydney CBD earlier in the month.
About 4:50pm on Friday 7 June 2013, a man and a woman allegedly attended a designer-brand clothing store in the World Square shopping complex, off George Street, Sydney.
The woman allegedly kept watch outside while the man entered the store and threatened the shop attendant with a handgun.
He was handed a small sum of cash from the register before walking away with the woman. No one was injured in the robbery.
In another incident, about 12:50am on Saturday 8 June 2013, the pair allegedly attended a restaurant on Wheat Road, Darling Harbour.
Once again the woman allegedly kept watch outside while the man entered the restaurant and threatened staff with a handgun while making demands for cash.
He was handed a small sum of cash from the register and fled the scene with the woman.
Detectives from City Central Local Area Command have been conducting investigations into the robberies and yesterday afternoon attended a casino in Pyrmont where they arrested the pair.
They were taken to City Central Police Station where the 36-year-old Rouse Hill man was charged with two counts of robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
The 20-year-old woman from Little Bay was charged with two counts of being an accessory before and after the fact to robbery with a dangerous weapon.
They were refused bail to appear in Central Local Court today (Thursday 20 June 2013).
