Police are investigating the armed robbery of a supermarket in Tingalpa that occurred last night.

Around 9.15pm, two men have entered the store on Wynnum and one has produced a knife.

The men have grabbed an employee and taken him behind the counter where they have removed a quantity of cigarettes and a sum of cash.

The men then left the store and were last seen getting into a green four-wheel-drive.

The employee wasn’t physically injured as a result.

The first man is described as Maori in appearance, of a solid build and was 180cms tall.

The second man is described as Maori in appearance, of a proportionate build and was around 170cms tall.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
