Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night at Victoria Point.

Around 11:15pm, a man entered a convenience store on Colburn Avenue and approached the counter.

The man has produced a knife and demands cash and cigarettes, and the female attendant has run through the door and into the car park.

The man grabbed the woman and she has sustained a laceration to her leg.

A member of the public has then approached the man and the woman from her car, and the man has taken a phone from her vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

A man was located nearby by police a short time later and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The attendant was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
