Police are investigating after a bottle shop in Pyrmont was held up overnight.

About 8.30pm yesterday (Sunday 30 June 2013), a male with his face concealed entered the liquor store on Harris Street, Pyrmont, armed with a metal hook-shaped implement.

He threatened a male employee and demanded cash, leaving a short time later with an amount of money.

The shop attendant was not injured in the robbery, and notified police.

Officers from City Central Local Area Command attended a short time later and secured a crime scene that was examined by detectives.

The man has only been described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 178cm tall, with a solid build, and spoke with a New Zealand accent.
