A 56-year-old woman has been charged with fraud related offences following an extensive investigation into the misappropriation of funds.

Detective Senior Constable Tanya Larsen-Smith of the Major Fraud Squad said the woman is alleged to have stolen approximately $900,000 whilst working for an organisation between 2011 and 2012.

“Those in positions of power and responsibility should take this as a warning, as this type of alleged criminal behaviour will not be tolerated by the community and you will be brought to justice.”

The woman was charged with:

Criminal Deception (x 17)

Trustee fraudulently disposing of trustee property (x 17)

False Accounting (x 4)

She was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 13 August 2013.
