Police are investigating after a hotel was robbed by two men armed with machetes this afternoon at East Brisbane.

Around 3pm two men entered the Stanley Street East licenced premises, threatening a female attendant and forcing their way behind a counter area.

The men then took a drawer containing cash and ran from the hotel. They were last seen getting into a silver coloured car and drove away on Stanley Street.

The attendant, a 29-year-old Brisbane woman, was not physically injured.

The first man is described as wearing a dark coloured long sleeve shirt, dark long pants, white shoes, white gloves and a black balaclava.

The second man is described as wearing a dark long sleeved shirt, grey long pants, black shoes, white gloves and had a cloth wrapped around his head.

The car is described as a silver sedan, possibly a Nissan Silvia or Skyline.
