Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Blackalls Park, near Lake Macquarie.
About 6am on Friday 19 July 2013, a man was preparing to open the store on Faucett Street when he was approached by a man, armed with a baseball bat.
The offender struck the victim on the legs a number of times, before demanding cash from the register.
He was handed a small sum of cash and was last seen running west along Fennell Street.
During the incident the 62-year-old man sustained a broken arm and wrist. He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics and taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
Police attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were contacted and launched an investigation.
They are looking for a man described as being of Caucasian appearance and approximately 183 cm tall with a solid build. He was last seen wearing a full face black balaclava with a black hooded jumper and grey track pants.
