A man has been charged after allegedly hitting another hotel patron in the face with a glass at Tamworth overnight.
About 10pm yesterday (Friday 26 July 2013) a 19-year-old Glenmore Park man was consuming drinks with several other patrons at a hotel in Marius Street.
When the man was asked to leave the table by another 19-year-old man, an altercation ensued and the Glenmore Park man grabbed the other man’s neck.
A third man then became involved in the argument with the man and an employee of the hotel tried to intervene.
Unfortunately the altercation escalated when the Glenmore Park man allegedly struck the 19-year-old man with a glass leaving a laceration to the side of his face.
The hotel employee then tried to push the offender away from the injured man but was punched in the face.
The Glenmore Park man left the hotel but was arrested by Tamworth Police a short distance away.
He was later charged with common assault x 2, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and offensive language.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on 19 August 2013.
