Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak with following an armed robbery in Chirnside Park overnight.
Around 12.10am a man has entered a service station on Maroondah Highway and approached the two male attendants.
It is believed he was armed with a small axe and has threatened them, then made a demand for cash.
After being given a quantity of money the man then left the store, walking west then turning north along Old Melbourne Road.
The attendants were not injured during the incident.
Detectives from Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and have released images of a man they wish to speak with.
He is described as being in his early 20s, medium height, slim build and perceived to be of Caucasian appearance.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a flannel jacket, black skinny jeans and lace up work boots.
