Police are appealing for information after the armed robbery of a service station north of Wollongong last night.
About 9.45pm (Sunday 4 August 2013), a man armed with a knife entered the business on Balgownie Road, Balgownie.
He walked behind the counter and approached the 26-year-old male cashier.
The man took cash and cigarettes before leaving the premises on foot.
The cashier was not injured during the incident.
Police attended and established a crime scene.
Officers and a police dog searched the area, but did not locate the man.
Detectives from Wollongong Local Area Command are continuing investigations into the robbery, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described only as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, and with a solid build. At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a black hooded jumper and blue tracksuit pants.
