A man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today in relation to the armed robbery of a Varsity Lakes convenience store on August 10.

Around 9.30pm, a man entered the Christine Avenue store and allegedly produced a knife while making demands for money and cigarettes from the attendant.

After receiving cash and cigarettes the man then left the store and drove away.

The attendant, an 18-year-old woman, was not physically harmed during the incident.

A 30-year-old Varsity Lakes man has been charged with one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence and armed robbery.
