22 August 2013 – Armed Robbery – Convenience Store – Melba

ACT Policing has arrested a 15 year-old Latham boy after an early morning robbery in Melba today (Thursday, 22 August).

About 5.35am, three offenders entered the 7-11 service station on Chinner Crescent, armed with a knife. They threatened the attendant and demanded cash.

The staff member complied, with a sum of cash being stolen from the cash register. The offenders left the store in a blue Ford Falcon.   Police searched the area and located the vehicle, which has been seized for analysis. One of the offenders was observed running on foot. He was arrested, and conveyed to the ACT Watch House. He will face court later this morning charged with aggravated robbery.

Investigations are continuing to identify the remaining two offenders.
