Police have arrested a man in relation to the robbery of an IGA store at Elizabeth Vale earlier today. Police will allege that the 37-year-old Davoren Park man entered the IGA store on John Rice Avenue at about 1pm, and removed a garden tool from its packaging. He then threatened staff with it, jumping the counter and stealing cigarettes. Police arrested the man nearby in Davoren Park. He has been charged with aggravated robbery and breach of bail, and has been refused police bail.
