Police from Mt Druitt are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in Rooty Hill last night.

Shortly before 9pm (Monday 9 September, 2013) two men of Pacific Islander appearance entered a convenience store on Rooty Hill Road South.

One of the men walked to the rear of the store, while the second man, who was armed with a knife, jumped the counter and held the knife to the stomach of the 18-year-old employee.

A sum of cash was taken from the till before both men ran from the store.

Police were called and an investigation is underway.
