Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in Heritage Park overnight.

At 8pm, two men entered the Bayliss Road business with one carrying a knife and the other believed to be carrying a firearm.

They demanded cash and cigarettes from the three shop attendants.

The pair proceeded to enter the rear of the business where a physical altercation occurred between one of the men and a shop employee resulting in both people sustaining injuries.

The two men left the premises on foot with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

A 29-year-old man was transported to Logan Hospital for the treatment of a facial injury.

The two men are described as wearing dark pants, dark hooded jumper, and a balaclava.
