A teenager has been charged over an alleged armed robbery and police pursuit near Wollongong early this month.

About 5.20am on Monday 2 September 2013, three males entered a service station on Balgownie Road at Balgownie.

It’s alleged one of the males threatened the attendant with a knife and demanded cash, while a second male ordered the attendant to hand over packets of cigarettes.

The trio later fled the location. No one was injured during the incident.

Police attached to Wollongong Local Area Command attended and launched an investigation.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

About 9.30pm last night (Wednesday 18 September 2013), police observed a white Mazda –reported stolen in a separate incident – on Robert Cram Drive at Bellambi.

Officers attempted to stop the car a short time later, before a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle was stopped on Park Road at Corrimal, where police arrested the 17-year-old male driver.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with robbery in company, steal motor vehicle (x2) and police pursuit (Skye’s Law).

He was refused bail to appear in court today (Thursday 19 September 2013).
