Fawkner Embona Taskforce detectives have released images following an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Coburg last week.
Investigators have been told a man, armed with a knife, entered the Sydney Road store and demanded money from the male attendant just after 5am last Friday.
The attendant struck the counter with a rubber pole and told the offender “no”.
The offender then ran out of the store empty handed onto Moore Street to a waiting car.
No one was injured during the attempted armed robbery.
The man is described as around 165cm tall, slim build and was perceived to have a Lebanese accent.
He was wearing tight grey pants, yellow bike gloves, a dark jacket with a horizontal stripe across the front, balaclava and was carrying a black back pack.
Police have released the below images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
