A man has faced a hospital bedside court hearing charged with stabbing a club employee on the Central Coast last weekend.

About 7.30pm (Saturday 21 September 2013), a 53-year-old employee was allegedly stabbed in the stomach outside a club on Wilson Road in Terrigal.

The knife blade broke off in the employee’s stomach.

Paramedics took the injured man to Gosford Hospital for emergency surgery. The knife blade was removed and he remains in a stable condition.

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command established a crime scene and found a 41-year-old man outside the club.

That man had also allegedly been in an altercation with two unknown males following the stabbing.

He suffered facial lacerations and went to hospital under police guard.

Today (Monday 23 September), the 41-year-old man was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

He faced those charges at a bedside court hearing and was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Wednesday 25 September.

The man is expected to be transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital for further tests tomorrow and entered into the custody of the Department of Corrective Services.
