Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary at a Preston shopping centre jewellery store yesterday.
It’s believed a man entered the Murray Street shopping centre store around midday.
The man used a hammer to smash a glass display cabinet and take a quantity of jewellery before leaving the store.
The man left the shopping centre and was driven away by an unknown person in a white, late-90s, Mitsubishi Magna.
The man is described as aged in his mid to late 20s, approximately 187cm tall with long dark hair that may have been a wig.
He was wearing light-coloured track pants, brown hooded top and a dark-coloured beanie.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries as well as a vehicle that may have been used during the incident.
