Police are investigating after a Kingston tobacconist was robbed last night.
Around 8.30pm a man entered the Ashton Street business and produced what appeared to be a firearm, demanding money from the female attendant.
After taking cash the man has then run from the store. He was initially chased by a male employee from a nearby business but he managed to escape and was last seen on Spruce Street.
No one was physically harmed during the incident.
The man is described as 180cm tall, of Caucasian appearance with blonde hair and aged in his early 20s. He was wearing a blue hooded jumper, trousers and white shoes.
Detectives are investigating whether this matter is linked to an earlier armed robbery at Jacaranda Avenue.
