Police are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver at Kingston this morning.

Initial investigations indicate two men entered the vehicle outside a licensed premises on Beaudesert Road at Acacia Ridge around 2.30am.

A short time later, the 22-year-old driver stopped the cab at Mawarra Street, Kingston where one of the men exited the vehicle, reached through the driver’s window, produced a knife, and threatened him.

The driver handed over a sum of cash.

Both men fled the scene on foot and were last seen heading through a park towards Mayes Avenue.

The 22-year-old driver was not physically injured during the incident.

The offenders are both described as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 175cm tall with black hair.
