Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Coolangatta in the early hours of this morning.
Around 1.10am, two men entered the Douglas Street store with one of the men producing a hammer and threatening two store employees.
The man with the hammer forced one of the employees to give him entry to the counter area, where the men obtained cash and cigarettes.
The offenders fled the store in a northerly direction.
No one was injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
