Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Sydney’s inner west.

Just after 12pm today (Sunday 29 September 2013), an employee was confronted by two men inside the hotel on Lyons Road at Drummoyne.

The men had their faces concealed and were armed with a shot gun.

The offenders threatened the employee, a 29-year-old man, before forcing him to open the safe and cash registers.

They fled with an amount of money and were last seen leaving the area in a Mitsubishi Magna.

Police were alerted and officers from Burwood Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

The employee was not injured.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.

One of the men is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid to late 20s, approximately 165cm to 168cm tall and with medium build.

The second man is only described as being between 165cm and 170cm tall and with medium build.

The Mitsubishi, later confirmed to be stolen, is silver with NSW registration ‘VLK 196’.
